Paya Soup is a good for bones and is recommended by doctors too.

Ingredients for Paya Soup

â€¢ 1 tbsp ghee

â€¢ 1 small piece of cinnamon

â€¢ 1 clove

â€¢ 5-6 black pepper corns

â€¢ 2-3 garlic bulbs

â€¢ 1 small piece of ginger

â€¢ 2-3 green chillies

â€¢ 1 onion

â€¢ Â½ tsp turmeric

â€¢ paya / goat trotter

â€¢ 750 ml water

â€¢ Â½ tsp black pepper pd

â€¢ tsp lemon juice

â€¢ Coriander for garnishing

Steps for Paya Soup

â€¢ In a pressure cooker, heat 1tbsp desi ghee.

â€¢ Add 1 small piece of cinnamon,1 clove and 5-6 black pepper corns.

â€¢ Next add coarsely cut pieces of 2 garlic bulbs, a small piece of ginger and 2-3 green chillies.

â€¢ Add one small onion cut into slices.

â€¢ Saute all the above things for one minute.

â€¢ Now add a pinch of turmeric and mix.

â€¢ Take one paya / goat trotter and wash it thoroughly. Put the paya in the cooker and add 750 ml water.

â€¢ Cover the lid of the pressure cooker

â€¢ Cook on high flame till the first whistle comes and then on low flame for another 20-25 minutes.

â€¢ Let the pressure release on its own and then open the lid.

â€¢ Check if the trotter is tender, if not then cook for some time more. Sieve the contents of the cooker and only add the trotter pieces to the soup and discard the other things.

â€¢ Now take a pan and transfer the soup in it. Cook on high flame to get the proper consistency.

â€¢ Add black pepper pd, 1 tsp lemon juice and garnish with coriander. Serve hot.
